According to reports
from Reu-
ters, China Security & Fire Co Ltd

It seems that China Secu-
rity & Fire is planning to spend
A$157.5 million ($120.3 million)
to purchase security related assets
owned by Securecorp Australia

recent filing at the Shanghai stock

China Security & Fire has
a Hong Kong subsidiary, and
reportedly it will be through this

Services Co Ltd and Guardforce
Holdings (Thailand) Ltd.
According to Reuters, China

up to 5 billion yuan ($770 million)
in a private placement of shares to
help fund the acquisitions, which
was reported from a separate filing.
The rest of the proceeds would
be used for security-related pro-
ducts and repaying bankloans. The
reports also say that trading in the
company's Shanghai-listed shares
is still to remain suspended as they
have been since mid-December
when they were halted pending an
announcement from the company.

Tyco opens new global HQ in Ireland
Tyco International plc
has
opened its new global headquar-
ters and business service centre at
One Albert Quay in Cork, Ireland
this week, with a ceremony for
more than 400 guests. Subject to
regulatory approvals later in the
year this will become the global
headquarters for Johnson Controls
plc, the resulting combination of
the recent Tyco International and
Johnson Controls merger.
In January 2014, the com-
pany, working in partnership
with IDA Ireland, announced
plans to establish a global business
service centre and hire more than
500 employees over three years
to provide consistent, efficient
delivery of several processes for its
businesses, including sourcing and
procurement, customer service, re-
search and development, informa-
tion technology and finance. Later
that year, Tyco also shifted its
place of incorporation to Ireland.
Approximately 250 employees are
now working in the new building.
"We are extremely pleased
with how quickly this impres-
sive facility has become a reality
with the help of many partners
in the government, private and
academic sectors in the Cork area
and throughout Ireland," said
Tyco Chief Executive Officer
George R. Oliver. "The centre is
already producing strong results
and has woven into the fabric of
the Cork community. We look
forward to becoming an employer
and partner of choice in Ireland
and continuing to make signifi-
cant contributions as a corporate
citizen."
In One Albert Quay, a prime
office property created by Irish
developer JCD, Tyco has linked
together several technologies that
reflect its strategy to help solve
broader challenges for its custo-
mers and the trend toward smart
connected technologies in homes,
buildings, and cities. Using its
Tyco On smart services platform,
Tyco has integrated the control
and optimisation of more than 10
building functions, ranging from
Tyco's core fire protection, secu-
rity and asset tracking systems to
features that enhance building
efficiency and the comfort and
convenience of employees and
visitors, such as energy-saving ele-
vator and lighting management,
HVAC maintenance and smart
parking.
In January of this year, Tyco
and Johnson Controls announced
plans to merge and create a global
leader in building products and
technology, integrated solutions
and energy storage. Subject
to shareholder and regulatory
approvals, the merger is expected
to close later this year, at which
time Cork and One Albert Quay
would become the global headqu-
arters for the combined company,
Johnson Controls plc.

Axis and Nedap launch vehicle ID system
Nedap Identification Systems
and Axis Communications have
introduced an integrated solution
based on Axis' physical access
control products. The complete
standalone solution leverages the
transparency and flexibility of
Axis' standards-based IP-based
approach to deliver a scalable and
easy-to-install method to combine
long-range identification with ef-
ficient physical security devices.
By combining Nedap's readers
for long-range identification with
Axis' products for physical access
control, customers will be able to
benefit from an open and future-
flexible IP-alternative to enhance
their security solutions. Axis'
physical access control products
cover a variety of application
needs, from identification and
entry control to advanced access
management.
Nedap's Transit Ultimate is
a robust long-range identifica-
tion reader, based on semi-active
RFID technology, enabling auto-
matic vehicle and driver identi-
fication at distances of up to 10
m (33 ft.). This high-end reader
is now available as a standalone
solution, taking advantage of
the open architecture of the Axis
A1001 IP-based network door
controller that features embed-
ded access management soft-
ware. Nedap's Upass readers offer
long-range vehicle identification
using the latest UHF technology.
The Upass readers are expected
to become available as standalone
solution this year.
"As a result of our
partnership with
Axis, we are able to
provide our sales
channel as a state of
the art standalone physical ac-
cess control solution that levera-
ges the full potential of our high
end long-range identification
readers," says Wouter Vansteenkis-
te, Senior Channel Development
Manager at Nedap Identification
Systems.
