Grundig VMS provides seamless
and flexible integration
IPS upgrades Videomanager
The Grundig VMS
powered
by VDG Sense, seamlessly
integrates video security with
audio intercom, parking ma-
nagement, access control and
intrusion detection systems to
provide scalable and flexible
security solutions for people,
site and asset protection - it is
designed to run on off-the-
shelf, ICT hardware, or on
Grundig's optimised 8, 16 and
24 channel NVR control and
recording packages.
Intelligent VCA (video con-
tent analysis) increases operator
effectiveness and includes mo-
tion detection, Scene-R tamper
detection, Car-R number plate
recognition and Face-R face
recognition. All can be applied
to live video and playback and
used for input and output
alarm triggering. Innovative
features include system-wide
event handling; extensive
system scalability; tiered user
rights; and open-protocol,
third party integration using
Grundig's own API.
Multi-server processing is
available with failover protec-
tion. Storage options include
RAID and NAS. Viewing is
by an intuitive graphic user
interface (GUI), video wall or
web-client with keyboard, app
and joystick control.
The Grundig VMS comes
in Sense Pro and Sense Basic
packages, both offering Scene-
R and motion detection fun-
ctionality as standard with web
interface, IOS and android
client viewing. Sense Basic sup-
ports up to three clients with
two input / output triggers.
The Sense Pro supports up
to 128 clients and 500 x I/O
triggers. Sense Pro packages
also support extendable,
advanced, indoor and outdoor
object detection, number plate
recognition, face recognition,
third party integration, failover
server and flexible video chan-
nel licensing.
Grundig's VMS licences
and NVR package systems,
powered by VDG Sense, are
designed to offer comprehen-
sive security solutions to any
site, anywhere.
IPS Intelligent
Video
Analytics, a business unit of
Securiton GmbH, is releasing
the latest update, version 7.0,
of IPS Videomanager and IPS
Videoanalytics with various
enhancements.
Among the new features is
the dynamic ring buffer mana-
gement, which leads to a more
efficient use of the hard disk
capacity. Furthermore the ma-
nagement of large multi-site-
systems has been simplified
through a centrally controlled
backup of video recordings.
Along with enhancements of
the video wall functions, the
IPS team worked on a better
visualisation within the video
manager client. Preview images
will be displayed in the site
plan, when moving the mouse
pointer over a camera icon.
For H.264, the playback
of the recordings can be
controlled precisely and each
single image can be displayed
forward or reverse. This feature
enables a maximum of ac-
curacy in the forensic search. A
requirement that is interesting
for applications such as casinos
or financial institutions, where
critical incidents can be com-
pleted within a split second.
Several enhancements, for
instance within the log entries
and the user rights were im-
plemented, so that the IPS Vi-
deomanager is now compliant
with the system requirements
for video surveillance systems
according to DIN EN 62676.
Moreover the connection to
third party systems has been
simplified through one ad-
ditional new file interface.
Numerous improvements
were also made in the IPS
server-based video analytics.
Peter Treutler, Director of the
IPS business unit, explains: "In
version 7.0 of our server-based
video analytics, our focus was
on improvements of quality
relating to the suppression
of disturbances. In the end,
the enormous potential of
video analytics can only be
fully exploited through reliable
detection and low false alarm
rates."
In addition there are new
features
in some
IPS
Video
analy-
tics products. Among them is
the capability of object clas-
sification in the module IPS
Loitering Detection. Improve-
ments in the IPS Privacy Pro-
tection module provide more
flexibility masking objects and
therefore the highest possible
privacy protection. One more
new feature in this module
is the option of irreversible
blurring.
There have also been
extensive improvements in the
IPS Dome Tracker module,
a video analytics software for
the real-time control of PTZ
cameras. The reliability of
object tracking could be in-
creased significantly, by being
able to better detect potentially
disturbing influences, such as
rapid changes in movement
or overlapping objects. Even
when an object moves under-
neath the camera, it can be
tracked smoothly.
