World's first NFC enabled lock
Iloq has unveiled
the world's first
NFC-enabled lock which is powe-
red by the mobile device being used
to operate it. Mobile devices have
now become keys, as well as wallets.
There are numerous benefits
to mobile smart locks: creating,
sharing and revoking access while
using your phone as a key. They
are how the homes, offices and
warehouses of the future will be
physically secured. However, cur-
rently every other smart lock on
the market needs to be powered by
batteries or a cable power supply.
"With traditional smart locks,
costly regular battery renewal pro-
cesses or expensive wiring is needed
to get the locks powered and
connected. These costs really start
to matter the more the locks you
have," said Iloq CEO and founder
Mika Pukari.
"Our innovation brings a huge
change in the smart lock market.
It makes smart locking the best
solution where there is a need for
high security and real-time access
management of locks and users."
The Iloq NFC is so small it fits
almost any kind of lock cylinders,
padlocks or cabinet locks. This ma-
kes the Iloq NFC easy to install, by
replacing the existing lock without
extra installation work to the door.
Real-time access right management
is handled by the Iloq Manager
cloud-service.
With Iloq NFC users can
now always find their keys and
have real-time access manage-
ment. Iloq NFC smart locks
harvest electricity from the user's
phone via induction through
NFC; so that it not only works
as the key, but also the power
source for the lock. The techno-
logy is patented, ready and fully
functional.
Iloq has long been a pioneer
in self-powered smart locks,
having introduced in 2007 the
world's first lock that was powered
by harvesting electricity from key
insertion.
"Now we have combined our
expertise in minimum energy smart
locks and the smart phone's ability
to give energy through the NFC
induction. Opening the lock works
by touching the door knob with a
phone that has an access right to it"
said Mika Pukari.
"Our innovation brings a huge change in
the smart lock market"

Triple-Tech Pearl integrates with CCTV
The Pearl Triple
-Tech detector
from GJD manufacturing is
designed to trigger genuine acti-
vations - it can be integrated with
CCTV and alarm systems to avoid
nuisance alarms. Combined with
PIR, microwave and anti-masking
technology, the Pearl provides relia-
ble and trustworthy security against
potential crime.
w, Managing Director at GJD
commented: "The Pearl is an
aesthetically pleasing product. It
may be small in size yet its quality,
reliability and performance are not
compromised. The Pearl detector is
a high-end product to help protect
residential, commercial or indu-
strial premises".
The Pearl detector is equipped
with PIR, microwave and anti-
masking sensors. The combined
technology ensures nuisance
triggers are kept to an absolute
minimum. It also comes equipped
with anti-tampering circuitry and
two separate output contacts.
Another key feature is its narrow
PIR curtain beam, which provides
precise and accurate detection
solutions to protect both properties
and people against crime.
The Pearl motion detector offers
engineer friendly features such as a
customisable "T" bracket suitable
for narrow beam applications. An
additional swivel bracket can be
purchased for applications that re-
quire a bespoke pan and tilt angle.
The Pearl can be easily posi-
tioned to look across many areas
including windows, doors or even
the entire length of the house or
property wall. It also has selectable
detection ranges of 3m, 6m, 9m
and 12m, making it suitable for a
wide range of applications.
Available in silver and white, the
Pearl discreetly
blends into the
majority of PVC
windows and do-
ors. As the Pearl
is also designed
and manufactu-
red with tamper
functionality,
it doesn't matter if the Pearl is
mounted on a swivel or T-bracket
as the tamper will still activate if
vandalism occurs.
Other unique features include
IP65 weather protection, low vol-
tage and a two-year warranty.

Thermal PTZ camera for easy
integration with alarm sensors
Flir has launched
the Flir TCX PTZ
thermal camera, which
is designed to easily
integrate with existing
alarm sensors to deliver
accurate, real-time visual
assessment and alarm verifica-
tion. It is available in 640x480
and 320x240 resolution, and has
on-board video motion detection
(VMD) analytics for accurate
intrusion detection 24/7.
Flir TCX PTZ provides a
powerful platform that is able to
give real-time visual assessment
and visual alarm verification. No
illumination is required, and it is
able to outperform visual cameras
at night, in challenging lighting
conditions, low contrast scenes,
inclement weather and heavily
landscaped areas. It has also been
engineered to work with with
legacy intrusion detection tech-
nology by providing clear visual
imagery of detected motion or
activity 24/7.
The TCX PTZ delivers perfor-
mance with two resolutions and
lens options a continuous 360°
pan, up to 400°/sec, -15° to 90°
tilt, auto-flip 180°, 300°/sec and
4x continuous ezoom. Human
observation detection range is
from 25° ~ up to 390 m, and 32°
~ up to 570 m in good conditions.
It also features WDR Thermal
with DDE & AGC for clear video
and video alarm verification 24/7.
This latest Flir offering is also
produced to provide easy integra-
tion in all environments, with the
flexibility to install into any new
or existing system. To this end
they are compatible with ONVIF
Profile S IP, MPX (HDCVI) and
analogue VMS systems. They
feature PoE connectivity, 24 VAC,
indoor/outdoor IP66 rating protec-
tion against ingress and work over
a temperature range from -40C
 55C (Anti-Ice). Simple plug and
play installation is achieved with
the Flir mobile & PC apps, and
Flir network and MPX recorders.
