Axis upgrades to Camera Station 5
New Vario bracket from Raytec
The new Axis
Camera Station 5
introduces hardware decoding, in-
tegration of third-party IP cameras
and Axis Optimised Rendering for
high-definition identification and
smooth videos with resolutions up
to three 4K video streams. A new
mobile viewing app allows for easy
remote monitoring.
The user interface has been
designed for ease of use, in that the
'Operator Mode' provides a dedica-
ted interface for efficient operation
that meets the requirements of the
occasional user as well as the more
active user in installations such
as larger retail stores, schools and
manufacturing facilities.
Axis Camera Station 5 introdu-
ces support for hardware decoding
and Axis Optimised Rendering.
The new 'Scrubbing' function
allows users to quickly search th-
rough video footage from multiple
cameras at the same time.
A free mobile viewing app avai-
lable for Android- and IOS-based
mobile devices allows users to view
live video from cameras as well as
recorded video footage.
This new version of Camera
Station allows users to take full ad-
vantage of Axis' wide range of video
surveillance cameras and techno-
logies. It supports 360º overview
recording, H.264 compression,
multi-view streaming, Axis' Cor-
ridor Format, Axis' Zipstream tech-
nology and advanced camera-based
video motion detection. Additional
functionality can easily be added
with ACAP applications.
Other security and video sur-
veillance solutions from Axis such
as door stations for easy identifica-
tion and remote entry control or
horn speakers for remote speaking
in video surveillance applications
can be used with Axis Camera
Station 5 as well. To meet specific
needs, the new version also sup-
ports integration of third party IP
cameras.
"System reliability is funda-
mental in any video surveillance
installation" says Peter Friberg, Di-
rector Solution Management, Axis
Communications. "Axis Camera
Station 5 together with our market
leading portfolio of IP security pro-
ducts offer a proven and easy to use
security solution for installations
such as schools, manufacturing sites
and more."
Existing Axis Camera Station
customers with up to 32 devices
and all Axis S10 recorder customers
regardless of system size will benefit
from a free upgrade to Axis Camera
Station 5.
The new Raytec

Automatic Systems launches Firstlane
Firstlane is the
new security
turnstile offering from Automatic
Systems and is designed to provide
value for money whilst ensuring
that safety and quality have not
been compromised.
The modern design of the First-
lane is such that it is suited to any
type of architecture and its range of
advanced technologies satisfy just
about every need with regard to
performance. The Firstlane series
comprises of two models: Firstlane
960 and Firstlane 970. Both offer
the same advanced features the
only difference being the size of
the walkway, Firstlane 960 offers a
compact footprint, while Firstlane
970, with its wider passage, is de-
signed to meet the needs of people
with reduced mobility.
The new Firstlane series com-
bines best in class detection with
advanced safety features. Firstlane
uses the exclusive DIRAS (Detec-
tion Infra Red Automatic Systems)
technology. It follows the users'
progression through the gate as well
as ensuring their safety during ope-
ning and closing of the obstacles.
With its multi-directional infrared
beam matrix and its predictive
algorithms, Firstlane's detection
system analyses and anticipates the
size, position, speed and direction
of the user in the lane, being able to
differentiate between fraudulent use
and irregular passage.
Automatic Systems designed
this new series to meet the needs of
its clients who are always looking
for a high-performance and reliable
product to secure the entrances
of their buildings. With the high
opening and closing speed of its ac-
cess points (0.7 sec.), the Firstlane
can accommodate traffic of up to
60 users per minute and offers a
high bi-directional flow allowing
the entry and exit of two people
at the same time so long as the
users have a badge. It is Automatic
Systems belief that the Firstlane's
total cost of ownership is one of the
lowest price quality offerings in the
industry.
Firstlane is easy to operate due
to the user-friendly function pic-
tograms, which help users interact
intuitively with the equipment.
With a focus on user safety, First-
lane is designed to prevent finger
entrapment and other impacts and
offers electronic user protection.
Firstlane's low energy consumption
and carbon footprint benefit both
the running cost along with the
environment.
All of this is available in a
product that is designed and ma-
nufactured to European standards
for quality and reliability. "Our
ambition was to offer customers the
best choice without sacrificing qua-
lity and security, attributes which
have always been the hallmark
of Automatic Systems." says Eric
Van Grimbergen, VP Pedestrian
Division at
Automatic
Systems,
"with the
Firstlane se-
ries we have
succeeded in
our objective
and we hope our clients will ap-
preciate our efforts and will take
advantage of this new opportu-
nity".
David Enderle, VP Global Sales
goes onto say, "Today's announce-
ment enhances our product offering
specifically addressing the growing
market segment where a basic out
of the box product is the perfect
solution to secure a client entrance.
It is part of our long-term com-
mitment to excellence and customer
satisfaction. We look forward to
continuing our growth in the
entrance control/turnstile market
through industry leadership and
innovations in 2016 and beyond''.
