Assa Abloy acquires companies
in the USA and in Switzerland
Avigilon President
wins national award

Vancouver, Canada
Assa Abloy has acquired
the Chicago-based com-
pany door Systems and
Planet GdZ from Switzer-
land.
Door Systems is a distributor of
commercial doors, residential
sectional doors, high speed doors
and docking solutions, based in
Chicago.
"I am very pleased that Door
Systems is joining the Assa Abloy
Group. I welcome this addi-
tion that further reinforces Assa
Abloy's leadership in entrance
automation, where our sales have
grown from SEK 3 billion in
2008 to SEK 22 billion in 2017,"
says Nico Delvaux, President and
CEO of Assa Abloy.

Door Systems was estab-
lished in 1954 and has some
100 employees and and the sales
figures for the company 2018
are expected to reach 27 million
dollars.
Planet GDZ is a supplier
of door drop down seals and
finger protection covers, based in
Zürich.

our strategy to strengthen our
position in the mature markets
through adding complementary
products and solutions", says Nico
Delvaux,
"Planet GDZ stands for in-
novative drop down seals and
finger protection for all types of
doors and will fill in a gap in our
product portfolio in the impor-
tant DACH (Germany, Austria
and Switzerland) markets and
beyond, making Assa Abloy even
more relevant to our current and
future customers."
Planet GDZ was established in
1945 and has some 55 employees.
The sales for 2018 are expected to
reach some CHF 18 million (ap-
prox. SEK 160 million)
The acquisition is conditional
upon regulatory approval and is
expected to close during the third
quarter of 2018.
Avigilon's President and Chief
Operating Officer, has been
selected as a recipient of Canada's

November at the Top 40 Awards

new President
elected at euralarm
Zug, Switzerland
During the 50th General As-
sembly of Euralarm, the Euro-
pean association representing
the fire safety and security
Industry, the members selected
Mr. Martin Harvey as new the
President of Euralarm.
He succeeds Enzo Peduzzi
who was President for the past
three years. Following the elec-
tion of the new President a new
Board and Managing Director
were introduced. Delegates
from national associations and
blue-chip companies acknow-
ledged that the Industry is
more unified, better integrated
into European decision-making
processes.
Martin Harvey is a consult,
with focus in the fire and se-
curity sector in Europe.. From
1974 to 2017 Martin Harvey
worked for Tyco. His last years
at Tyco International, from 2011
to 2017, he was the head of the
European Regulatory Affairs.
The 2018 General Assembly
of Euralarm was hosted for the
second time in Bucharest, by
Euralarm's Romanian Member
ARTS, a body representing the
security Industry in the country.
The event coincided with the
end of the Euralarm Board's
three-year mandate and offered
a review of the work achieved
during that three-year period
under the presidency of Enzo
Peduzzi, from Siemens.
