Vicon launches new VMS software
Hauppauge, NY (USA)
Vicon Industries is set to launch an online reveal of its nextgeneration video management software, Vicon Valerus. During the month, slides will be added to the company’s homepage banner revealing the main features and benefits of the new software. The reveal will be based around a countdown to a live webinar on the 8th of September which will debut
the entire system. The launch will centre on the major pillars of the software, ease-of-installation, easy-to-use web-based interface and a standards based true open platform philosophy. Valerus has been designed to offer advanced simplicity for sophisticated live monitoring, centralised management and high-performance video recording.
Beyond video, Valerus is designed to be a proactive business tool with health monitoring features ready to evolve into Cloud environments. Bret McGowan, Vicon’s Sr. VP Sales & Marketing states, “We are all very excited about Vicon’s Valerus, a totally new video management software that underscores our commitment to offer true standards-based products. This re-
volutionary software brings a whole new level of ease of installation and user experience. We are looking forward to sharing Valerus with our partners and customers.”
Dallmeier releases VMC-2
Regensburg, Germany
The latest VMC-2 from Dallmeier offers a new video management centre with touch screen for the convenient and intuitive control of video systems. The Video Management Centre VMC-2 has an ergonomic and intelligent design. It is made up of a touch screen, a joystick and a jog-shuttle. The individual components are modular and flexible, so they can be used by
left- or right-handed operators, or used independently as standalone devices. The VMC-2 is compatible with Semsy III video management systems and is DIN EN 50130-4 compliant. By using the VMC joystick, which can also be used as a mouse, the operator is able to intuitively carry out PTZ movements. With a single click
the camera returns to its home position. The VMC touch screen enables a simple and convenient multi-touch control. The intuitive user interface allows the security operator for instance to activate live streams or to control PTZ cameras precisely. Furthermore, the playback of recordings and the initiation of backups can be controlled conve-
niently. In addition, an enhanced snapshot function can be used for individual marks and comments directly in the image. Certain frames in a video sequence can be found quickly using the jog-shuttle. Rotation of the central jog dial allows the user to move through individual frames, and the shuttle ring allows for scenes to be played forwards or backwards at different speeds.
