Served by 108 airlines, Antalya offers its passengers more than 600 different connections, some of them only seasonal. The airport counts more than 25 million passengers each year, positioning it close to the top 50 in the world. 3,500 fire detectors Across the terminals, Bosch’s local partner Ateksis installed 3,500 automatic fire detectors - 420 Series, which are connected to six networked Modular Fire Panels 5000 Series. These can be configured and operated via two remote keypads. The fire detection system
is interfaced with the fully digital Praesideo public address and emergency sound system. With more than 1,800 horns and ceiling loudspeakers as well as 300 sound projectors, this system covers multiple independent zones within the terminal buildings to allow for precise and targeted evacuation instructions in case of emergency. Integrated solution The Praesideo system comprises two network controllers, 48 distributed power amplifiers and 25 call stations. It also has an automatic volume control that
automatically increases the sound level when the building is getting crowded. Fire detection and voice evacuation systems are integrated via the Bosch Building Integration System (BIS), allowing for central control and operations. Due to its open and modular architecture, the solution can be expanded seamlessly as Antalya Airport continues to grow. For the same reason, third party solutions such as video surveillance, access control and even the flight information system could easily be integrated with Praesideo.

Prestige university controls access with TESA
Madrid, Spain
Access control challenges at CUNEF, Madrid’s top business and finance university, will be familiar to many educational institutions: how to keep the university site secure, yet still provide flexible, user-friendly access to an ever-shifting roster of staff, students and visitors. For glass doors, emergency doors, teaching rooms and private offices, Smartair achieved their goal — and without any need for expensive cabling or wiring.
Smartair is an access control system suited to organisations making the step up from mechanical master keys. At CUNEF, students and staff now open doors with smart Mifare RFID cards. With Smartair, CUNEF facility managers can tailor access rights down to the level of the individual user or door. If someone loses their card, there’s no security threat. Facilities managers issue a new card, and the lost card is automatically invalidated. wireless installation Because there’s no wiring involved in a Smartair door installation, CUNEF can extend access control to far more doors than would be feasible or affordable with a traditional wired system. Over 100 wireless, battery-powered Smartair escutcheons have even been fitted to glass doors and emergency exit doors. “We trusted the wireless Smartair system because it’s already used in other universities around the world, and the partner who installed the products was efficient and professional,” says Gregorio Pascual Carrascosa, Facility Manager at CUNEF. Smart card solution CUNEF selected Smartair ”Update on Card” management, which allows smart cards to carry updated information to secured doors, adding flexibility for both users and facilities managers. The university also installed 6 Smartair updaters, so all users can update access rights easily. The initial project envisaged 108 escutcheons placed throughout the site, but CUNEF was so satisfied with their Smartair installation that 203 are already up and running—so far. Prestigious university The Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros, or CUNEF, is a prestigious Madrid university specialising in business administration, law and finance. Over 100 lecturers and professors teach approximately 1,600 students at the university.
