According to UBM, the organisers, in 2014 they had over 40,000 visitors through the doors to the full series of shows. This year the series felt equally as busy, and the visitor figures released by UBM, specifically for Ifsec alone, Snapped at Ifsec stand at 23,079 showing an increase of 2% on the previous year. There is still a very international feel to the show and although the bulk of visitors were from the UK, 33% were overseas visitors, who came from 112 different countries. In terms of exhibitors, there were around 650 solutions providers from 45 countries, plus access to over 1,000 further exhibitors at the sister shows. Innovation in focus In addition to the usual seminar and conference programmes there were some new features at the event for 2015. For instance, through experience from previous years, UBM had identified that innovation was one of the main 3. motivations for visitors to attend. As a result another new feature was created for this year, called the Innovation Trail - a sign posted route with over 80 participating companies throughout the show and designed to demonstrate where genuine innovation could be found. Less visitors from north Based on conversations Detektor had during the show, most exhibitors appeared to be very satisfied with the move to London, although some were of the opinion that there were fewer visitors from the North of England and Scotland than there used to be at the NEC venue. Gerry Dunphy, Event Director for Ifsec & Firex International, said: “Ifsec International once again exceeded all expectations for 2015; the atmosphere on the show floor was fantastic with plenty of innovation and industry expertise on display across the three days. We have had a great response from both our visitors and exhibitors and we look forward to returning to London in 2016 to continue to be the industry leading event showcasing the latest security technologies from across the globe.” Ifsec International next year will once again take place in London at the Excel but a little later in the month, this time from the 21st – 23rd June 2016 and will once again be organised by UBM.
