"The main motivations for
selecting the ccHDtv DTV solu-
tion as system of choice in these
projects are good video quality,
high efficiency, long distance
transmission, and yet still with
lower costs", concludes ITE Tech's
President, H.Y. Lin.
cable TV, then it is possible to
use the existing cables to save on
time and costs and to minimize
disruption due to new cable runs
and the user will be able to view
surveillance video over his stand-
ard TV set.
Successful cases of ccHDtv
The ccHDtv DTV Solutions have
already been implemented in
many different projects, includ-
The DTV cameras with UHF
antennae will perform efficiently
with a power level of just 1mW,
penetrating walls and covering
tens of metres in typical environ-
ments. With a power level of
200mW, UHF transmission can
reach 3 times further whilst also
covering an area nine times larger
than a Wifi transmitter operating
at the same power level and same
environment. If the transmis-
sion power is increased to 20W,
the DTV solution can achieve a
distance of up to 100 km if there
is enough clearance between the
transmitter and receiver.
Outstanding cost benefits
The ccHDtv DTV products and
solutions consist of digital Full
HD surveillance devices for easy
installation and are designed
according to the "plug and play"
principle. It has been proven
that the installation cost for a
ccHDtv DTV solution, based on
a 16 channels system, in a new
building, is 15% lower than with
a standard surveillance system of
the same size. In the case of an
HD upgrade requirement for an
existing 16-channels analogue
system, the installation costs of
the ccHDtv DTV solution will
be 30% lower than those of an IP
system. In addition, as previously
stated, the ccHDtv DTV solu-
tion and products will reproduce
video in resolutions of 1080p and
4K (soon available). Plus, they
support multi signal and multi
channels in high-definition trans-
mitting concurrently over long
distances with no loss in video
quality.
Suitable for
many applications
The modern ccHDtv DTV solu-
tion forms an effective system for
professional project applications,
and, as it is very easy to operate
and configure, it is also ideal for
residential and SME applications.
In terms of householder use, if
the user is already subscribed to
says the President of ITE Tech.
"It is also important to widen
applications with the upcoming
trend of IoT and analogue system's
migration and to enhance the ac-
ceptance of the ccHDtv technol-
ogy worldwide".
Impressive
transmission capacity
The ccHDtv specification has
been developed to assign and carry
dedicated channels of video, audio
and data signals for transmission
over a single cable. It easily sup-
ports a capacity for each channel
of up to 31.6Mb/sec to carry
video in full HD and even in
4Kx2K resolutions. As it is based
on frequency division multiplex-
ing, the ccHDtv specification
supports multiple streams at dif-
ferent rates 1080p 60fps, 1080p
30fps, 720p 3ofps respectively
and concurrently. The ccHDtv
specification is able to compress
video signals into H.264 format
for transmission and storage.
"Furthermore, with the spe-
cially designed development kits,
allied companies can provide their
own VMS, CMS and even cloud
platforms to manage video con-
tent delivered by their products
and solutions", says H.Y. Lin.
Safe and reliable operation
Any future products and solutions
developed based on the ccHDtv
specification and protocol will
be given the prefix of DTV, such
as DTV cameras, DTV NVRs,
and so on. These DTV system
solutions can be deployed in many
different topologies, such as Star,
Ring, Daisy Chain, and many
others, using 3C2V/5C2V/RG6
coaxial cables. The Ring topology
(Fig. 2), for example is capable
of preventing loss of video due to
malicious activity or cable fault.
This ensures that the system works
effectively at all times.
Where wireless configuration
is required, the ccHDtv specifica-
tion will support manufacturers
to develop a wireless solution.

Meet ITE Tech and ccHDtv at IFSEC
ITE with the ccHDtv Alliance will support its allied part-
ner companies in showcasing the latest DTV solutions on a
dedicated stand at IFSEC International 2015 on June 16-18
in London, UK. Together with solutions and service package
presentations, there will be many more attractions on offer on
the ITE stand (#G250).
