ID & Access Control The overall winner 2022 Biostation 3 from Suprema (South Korea) Biostation 3 is an access control terminal with facial recognition, but also offers other contactless authentication options to improve ease of use, including QR codes, barcodes, mobile cards and RFID cards. Biostation 3 uses AI algorithms locally, with a built-in NPU to maximize the performance of the AI engine. Accurate authentication is also offered for faces with different types and colours of masks, hairstyles, hats and glasses. To protect personal data, Suprema’s Face Template on Mobile authentication method allows users to store and manage their face authentication template on their mobile phone without having to store it in the company’s database. THE JURY’S MOTIVATION:“With its powerful AI engine and unique face on the mobile feature, Biostation 3 offers the market a contemporary solution for secure authentication and protection of users’ personal data – truly a winning concept” The overall winner 2022 Smart Video Search from Eagle Eye Networks (USA) was presented as the first prize winner in the category of Video Surveillance. Smart Video Search, a feature of Eagle Eye Cloud VMS that enables efficient search across all cameras and all monitored locations to quickly find the exact video sequence desired and smoothly share videos. No special cameras, hardware or local installation required. Similar to a web search, customers enter descriptions of what they are looking for, for example “man with blue shirt”, “person with backpack” or “white Toyota car”. The results can be filtered by date, time, location or camera. AI is used to index video in near real-time, making the video searchable almost instantly. THE JURY’S MOTIVATION: “The Smart Video Search is a powerful response to the strong market demand for a video search function that offers ease of use, speed, search versatility and precision – a true victory for customised design.” Video Surveillance The Innovative Achievement Award 2022 Specter Nano from Stid Security (France) 3D Fly from TBS (Switzerland) With Specter Nano, both the vehicle and the driver can be detected with multi-factor authentication. The vehicle normally has a UHF tag that the Specter Nano reads at up to about seven metres, but it can also wait for a second authentication to start reading the tag through an input from an external system such as license plate recognition, vehicle detection device or ground loop. At the same time, the driver can also be detected and verified through Stid Mobile ID virtual high-security cards, at up to 20 metres, using one or two-factor authentication. THE JURY’S MOTIVATION:““Once again Stid Security shows its capability to create innovative solutions that significantly improve the user experience while securing and eliminating vehicle access lines.” The Innovative Achievement Award 2022 Axis M5000G from Axis Communications (Sweden) Ava Quad from Ava Security, (UK) Axis M5000-G is a PTZ camera for indoor areas up to 400 square metres. With three 5 MP sensors and a PTZ camera with 10x optical zoom and HDTV 1080p, you can get sweeping overviews and zoom in to get details with a single click on the monitor. The Axis M5000G camera is also compatible with the Smart Home platform Z-Wave. This means that it can, for example, be connected wirelessly to, for example, a PIR detector that reacts to presence in a room and thus triggers the camera to switch on the lighting and send an alarm. THE JURY’S MOTIVATION: “Offering an excellent surveillance solution for total situational awareness, Axis M5000-G is further proof of how Axis constantly finds new paths to serve the market’s needs with contemporary technology solutions” TBS 3D Fly is a contactless scanning terminal that uses fingerprints. In addition, the AI-assisted hand recognition technology increases user throughput without compromising security. With 3D Fly, users do not have to stay physically at the device. The 3D Fly sensor captures a high-resolution image of the entire hand and extracts the biometric characteristics from up to four fingers, resulting in superior recognition performance. This sensor technology – combined with fast data processing – identifies a person within a second. THE JURY’S MOTIVATION: “With this remarkable touchless scanning terminal, using fingerprints mixed with AI-assisted hand recognition technology, TBS significantly increases user throughput without compromising on security.” Ava Quad is said to be the first cloud-based security camera with multiple adjustable sensors. The zoom lenses provide complete coverage to up to four different areas over wide areas outdoors or indoor. The quad security camera has four independent 5 MP sensors with multi-exposure line-based HDR capabilities to deliver high image quality even in areas with high-contrast lighting. The quad multi-sensor camera includes embedded AI analytics, built-in storage of up to 30 days retention and integrates seamlessly with Ava Aware Cloud VMS system. THE JURY’S MOTIVATION: “With the market’s first cloud-based multisensor camera for security applications Ava Security is confirming its strong position at the forefront of the modern video surveillance technology sector.” Security News Every Day – www. securityworldmarket.com de te k to r i n te rna t i onal • 3 1
