novel sensor concept, surveillance
can be ensured even for extremely
large areas with just a single
Panomera system including
permanent recording of the entire
image and at the highest possible
resolution even at great distances.
According to Dallmeier, with
Panomera, a system installed
in a single location can provide
surveillance over the same area
that previously required sev-
eral (even ultra-high resolution)
cameras. This not only helps to
increase efficiency when analysing
the images, it also helps to reduce
costs, particularly with regard to
the infrastructure required (masts,
cables, etc.).
Megadome 2.
· Arecont Vision displayed
its Megadome 2 camera series.
Arecont has added a 10 megapixel
camera to the current lineup of
1.3, 1080p, 3 and 5 megapixel
cameras. Arecont Vision has
also added two Wide Dynamic
Range (WDR) cameras to the
Megadome 2 series at resolu-
tions of 1080p and 3 mega-
pixels. The series provides remote
focus, remote zoom, day/night
and auto iris capabilities. The
newest camera addition includes
these features in a 10 megapixel
(3,648x2,752 pixels) model that
delivers video at seven frames
per second. Arecont Vision's
Megadome 2 WDR cameras
provide a dynamic range of up
to 100dB. Combining long and
short exposures in the same video
frame, the new WDR capability
maximizes the amount of detail in
both bright and dark areas in the
field-of-view. The WDR perfor-
mance of the cameras represents
an up to 50dB improvement
(300X) in dynamic range com-
pared to non-WDR cameras.
Other important features of
the Megadome 2 camera series
include a dual H.264 (MPEG-4
Part 10) and MJPEG dual, on-
camera privacy masking and bin-
ning mode to improve low-light
performance.
image quality which is shown in
full when the image is paused.
The technology enables viewing
in HD quality from any location
at any time, as long as there is an
internet connection available.
Bosch Security Systems is
introducing this technology to its
portfolio as standalone units for
large systems and as an inte-
gral part of upcoming IP video
storage appliances for small and
medium systems. The Dynamic
Transcoding Technology offers
all Bosch customers using IP and
HD cameras remote monitor-
ing now also at low bandwidths.
The addition of this functional-
ity allows instant replay without
buffering.
According to Bosch it is also
suited to commercial monitor-
ing centres with thousands of
cameras offering remote video
security as a service.
IP camera with Ipela Engine from Sony.
· Sony displayed a whole range of
IP cameras with Ipela Engine, the
general term of Sony's integrated
signal processing system for high
picture quality. It is capable of
the industry's first 130dB wide
dynamic range in full HD qual-
ity at 30 fps. The shooting of
high-resolution images in full
HD (1920x1080) is now possible
through high-speed recording
at 60 fps, double that of the
standard number of frames until
now. With DEPA Advanced, the
functions for detection of moving
objects, humans and any objects
blocking the view among others
have been enhanced through an
alarm detection function using
image processing. With XDNR,
clear images can now be created
in low-light conditions through
the detection and removal of
noise within a single frame.
· Dallmeier presented a new
approach with the Panomera
multifocal sensor system. Unlike
conventional HD and megapixel
cameras, which only have one
lens, Panomera functions with
multiple lenses, each of which has
a different focal length. With this
